How do I order with a purchase order (PO)?

You’ll be able to mail or email a hardcopy or use the electronic purchase order form!

How do I order with a credit card?

The easiest way is to place your order through our website, www.kpmathematics.com.

We use an encrypted, secure payment system that confidentially receives your credit card payment and delivers your purchase request to our fulfillment office.

How do I submit our tax-exempt status before ordering

Bulk Discounts

If you wish to purchase multiple build-to-100 sets, we recommend a build-to-1000 kit.

Each kit includes ten (10) build-to-100 sets, which provides substantial savings. 

In addition, we offer:

  • 10% discount on orders over $10,000
  • 15% discount on orders over $15,000
  • 20% discount on orders over $20,000.

Only one discount is applied to each order, and the greatest qualifying discount is applied.

How many KP®Mathematics Ten-Frame Tiles do I need for a whole class?

We recommend the following quantities for classroom instruction.

The best pricing comes when you purchase ten-frame tiles in bulk.

A build-to-1000 kit includes ten (10) build-to-100 sets. 

  • Kindergarten
    The ideal situation for kindergarten is 2 build-to-ten sets per student. The smallest kit you can purchase is a build-to-100 kit with 10 build-to-ten sets, enough for 5 students.

    Example
    If you have 20 students, you would want 4 build-to-100 sets so each student can have 2 build-to-10 sets.
    Your best pricing results from purchasing a build-to-1000 kit and sharing between two kindergarten classes.

  • Grades 1-5+ (Ideal)
    The ideal situation for grades 1 and up is one build-to-100 set per student.

    Your best pricing results from purchasing build-to-1000 kits with ten (10) build-to-100 sets in each box.

  • Grades 1-5+ (Economy)
    For grades 1 and up, you can get by with one build-to-100 set for every two students.

    Your best pricing results from purchasing build-to-1000 kits with ten (10) build-to-100 sets in each box.

How are The Amazing KP®Ten-Frame books helpful?

The Amazing KP®Ten-Frame books provide illustrated examples, sample lessons, problem-solving tasks, and games/activities that support using Ten-Frame Mathematics to teach the significant content in your grade levels.

Using the typical content found in most states’ standards frameworks, each book provides examples for all relevant concepts covered in grades K-2 (The Amazing KP®Ten-Frame), grades 2-3 (The Powerful Ten-Frame), or grades 4-5 (The Infinite Ten-Frame).

It’s important to know that Ten-Frame Mathematics includes using multiple tools, including KP Ten-Frame Tiles, the KP Ten-Frame Tiles App, ten-frame sketching, and visual models connected to symbols. 

If you teach multiple grade levels, you may opt to purchase the Tile Tactics book, which draws from all three of The Amazing KP®Ten-Frame books to provide a K-5 continuum.

Note that only the illustrated examples and sample lessons are included in Tile Tactices. You will need to purchase the individual Amazing Ten-Frame books if you want the problem-solving tasks and the activities/games.

How do I use KP®Ten-Frame Tiles with my mathematics program/textbook?

Like most manipulatives, KP®Ten-Frame Tiles are program-agnostic.

This is also true of the other modes of KP®Ten-Frame Mathematics (e.g., ten-frame sketching, ten-frame tiles app, ten-frame mental images).

We recommend notating places in your teachers’ edition where you can replace base-ten blocks with KP®Ten-Frame Tiles when planning.

Also, look for lessons aligned to standards and objectives that lend themselves to ten-frame mathematics tools. This includes lessons that address base-ten numbers and operations, operations and algebraic thinking, numbers and operations with fractions (specifically, decimal fractions), and some measurement and data analysis standards.

PRO TIP We recommend that you place post-it notes in your planning materials every time you find a lesson or activity that would benefit from using KP®Ten-Frame Mathematics.

We typically use the 1×2 post-it notes and write “TFM” on them. This way, you’ll know how to use your tools when planning for those lessons in the future.

What are the Serious Play games?What are the Serious Play games?

The Serious Play games are the one KP®Mathematics product that is not focused on TKP®Ten-Frame Mathematics.

Instead, each game centers on helping students internalize the properties of operations, including the commutative, associative, distributive, and identity properties.

Each game includes the following features: built-in math-fact practice, built-in mental math practice, an emphasis on collaboration, prompts for embedding verbal and written representations, and an element of chance that makes the games worth repeated play (e.g., FUN). 

Furthermore, each game includes several versions to offer differentiated options that use the same rules.

These versions include various number sets for whole numbers and for fractions (e.g., sums within 10, sums within 20, sums within 100, sums within 1000, products within 36, products within 100, products within 1000, fractions with common denominators, fractions with friendly denominators, etc.).

The Serious Play games are the only KP Mathematics product not focused on KP®Ten-Frame Mathematics. Instead, each game centers on helping students internalize the properties of operations, including the commutative, associative, distributive, and identity properties.

Professional Development

When does the next Beyond Math Blocks (BMB) cohort begin?

The highly popular Beyond Math Blocks eight-week cohorts provide a structure for educators to explore using KP®Ten-Frame Mathematics to address K-8 standards.

This online event includes lifetime access to the video course library and weekly coaching and Q&A calls with Kim Rimbey, Chief Learning Officer and co-inventor of KP®Ten-Frame Mathematics. 

These cohorts typically occur in the spring (February and March) and the fall (October and November).

Summer cohorts are also available if there is a high enough demand to form a cohort.

These exhibits are highly interactive, allowing participants the opportunity to learn more about using Ten-Frame Mathematics at their grade levels.

Participants can also retrieve free samples at the exhibit booths.
